Most of the purveyors of vanilla on the internet and outside of the vanilla coast in Mada are 3 to 6 levels down the chain. MV FCFF-rated vanilla is at the bottom of that chain and up, and we are actually growing it ourselves in Madagascar at 2 of our own farms, deploying direct staff and supervision on the ground since long before the boom and bust cycles (2 of them in fact spanning over a decade.) We cultivate, collect, and cure, and deal with all of the documents and delivery ourselves.

True Madagascar Grade A vanilla beans (there is NO actual body or organization or accreditor for grading, so all companies just claim and name their beans as "A,") are dark black-brown, aromatic and creamy in fragrance and appearance, with raisiny oily (natural vanilla oils and vanillin from the 200+ natural interlocking compounds that make the real vanilla smell) whole without any or many split ends at the peak of the pod, long and not wet or juicy (excess moisture has been sun cured out to concentrate taste,) and 13 or 14 cm and above, (15-17 is an average in the industry but goes up to 22cm.) Look for all of these features in true-to-name Grade A vanilla beans.

By our exercise of complete and clear control (auditable and accountable and actually visible onsite,) we optimize flavor, form, and vanillin development over the life and course of orchids' hand pollination ("bourbon method") all the way to the mature pod cutting over the "green season,"...to the water searing/killing ("ranomafana,") the sorting ("triage/calibrate,")... to the sunning and scheduling of the curing windows and wax paper packing...to exit the island in stellar shape with an in-house export license and small laboratories.

We even have a tourist guesthouse and vanilla visitor center in Madagascar! - www.savatour.com and run 2 rainforest lodges!

We offer to our end customers abroad literally, locally, and truly the most direct prices and product quality control, private labeling service, and packaging customization capacity you can get in the world. We welcome customers to visit and audit in the island itself, at the installations, and over the incoming harvests on-site. (Contact us for travel details and booking!)

Low price guaranteed, satisfaction guaranteed, integrity included.

More information and specifications on our default vanilla:

Planifolia species, current/latest harvest year. Cured in the traditional Madagascar method (not industrially or by machinery or young cut and fast-curing rack machines, but by human hands and sun in SAVA and Maroansetra-Mananara's southern coast off Masoala.) Beautiful textured fragrant black whole bean pods, 13-22cm per bean (median trends 15-17cm,) 30% general median moisture (28-34%,) "gourmet" typology, and 165-225 beans per pound (we sell by weight unless you make a special request by bean packs.) FDA-certified, USDA and Ecocert Organic, staff and farm hands paid above FFL fair trade prices. NFN (Black Whole Beans "Non Fendue Noire.") Shelf life if stored in cool dark dry place, in anaerobic tin cans or vacuum packs, is up to 2 years (in practice, longer, but in labeling and advisories, 2 years.) Do not freeze or refrigerate. Madagascar Origin only. Not stolen or "swapped in shipping" beans and pods checked against lots, tracking tattoos, and triage sets.

The vanilla is vegan, pure 100%, and natural, pesticide-free, phenol or spray-free, GMO-free, and carries no known allergens or toxins. We do not cut any rainforest and reforest the rim of each side of Masoala Park, and in fact manage trips into the Masoala Rainforest and lemur-lived lodges on both sides of the rim of Madagascar's oldest rainforest. Contact us for reservations.

Crystallized vanillin (like small off-white shiny diamonds or glass-shaped vanilla gems) can crystallize on the outside of the vanilla in cold or certain conditions, like THC crystals on cannabis plants, but if you'd like decorative vanilla (vanillin) crystals, these are also upon special request and triage and need a premium price adjustment as we also collect these out of each lot.

If you'd like red vanilla (rouge American or rouge European,) this is also by special request. If you'd like cuts or ground powder (vanilla powder,) this is also by special request.

Private labeling and custom packaging services are available.

Quick Answers*:

These vanilla beans are unique because they are grown on our own two farms in Madagascar rather than being sourced through middlemen. We maintain direct control over every step of the process, including hand-pollination, curing, and export. Each bean is hand-selected and features unique farm tattoos, ensuring high quality and complete traceability from the orchid to the final product. We do not use third-party distributors or industrial fast-curing methods that compromise flavor quality.
True Grade A vanilla is identified by its dark black-brown appearance, oily texture, and lack of split ends. Our beans measure between 13 and 22 cm, contain approximately 30% moisture, and are packed with 200+ natural compounds that create a rich, creamy aroma. We encourage customers to visit our farms and installations in Madagascar to audit the harvest directly. We do not provide anonymous or mass-marketed beans that lack documented farm origin or batch tracking.
To maintain optimal quality, store the beans in a cool, dark, and dry place using anaerobic tin cans or vacuum-sealed packs. Under these conditions, the vanilla has a shelf life of up to two years. It is critical to avoid refrigeration or freezing, as improper storage can lead to mold development. We do not recommend storing these beans in environments exposed to heat or light, as these conditions degrade the natural vanillin oils.
Yes, we offer specialized options such as decorative vanillin crystals, red vanilla, and ground vanilla powder upon special request. These variations require a premium price adjustment as they involve specific triage and collection processes from our lots. We also provide private labeling and custom packaging services for wholesale clients. We do not provide these specialty versions as part of our default whole-bean offering without prior arrangement and price adjustment.
Orders are shipped from the United States, with emergency logistics available from warehouses in Antananarivo, Antalaha, Maroansetra, and Narita. We offer regressive wholesale discounts based on the scale and quantity of your order. You should contact us directly to discuss your specific volume requirements and potential packaging needs. We do not offer fixed bulk pricing without considering the specific scale and customization requests of the order.
